I was expecting them to be dried up but when they arrived they have exceeded my expectation. Each highlighter is packed in their individual plastic packaging. The only problem I find with them is that when opening them you have to twist and twist the cap, you can't just pull it. When closing it you have to ensure you hear it click or else there is probably a chance of the ink drying up.

APPEARANCE: These highlighters are adorable! The case has very vibrant colors and very smooth edges.PERFORMANCE: The highlighters all work really well and the ink has very good coverage. It’s very useful to have 5 highlighting colors on one useful tool. I also think the shape helps as it makes the markers easy to find in a bag or purse. (These would also make really cute party favors with a little sticker put on the center circle.)DURABILITY: While this product is a steal for the price, especially because you can get several at a time, I do have some durability concerns, mainly two points. My first worry is that the markers could dry up do to improper alignment of the lids. While I don’t foresee myself having any problems ensuring that loss are closed, my children regularly ‘close’ them without ensuring they are aligned properly. This does leave an air gap. My other concern would be with the highlighter tips collapsing in to the marker body. This happened to one of mine, but could have been due to excess pressure being applied by my son. But it is a concern nonetheless.

These have been working great for my classroom. The caps are easy enought to remove and put back for my kindergartners. The colors have lasted a few months so far, so we'll see how much longer we can keep on chugging with them!
