The book largely presents the aspects related to recurve, compound, and traditional archery. Due to this fact it does not go into enough detail and the explanations are not enough. In addition, it disregards the three under style, although it is dominant in the barebow.

Good beginner/intermediate book. Generally good information on basics but some topics leave something to be desired in that she refers the reader to go to a professional to figure things out.

Certainly this is the best book for beginners in archery! You get to known archery types, equipment and how to shoot (with enlightening images). Form and consistency are your prime goals before thinking of scores. You get to learn that most of the effort is in your back and shoulders, therefore "strong arms" is a misleading belief. It even covers range safety rules and stretching and warming up exercises. I strongly recommend this book to anyone considering archery.

I felt that there was not enough information and told you about archery and not how to get into archery.. It truly is a fundamental or basic overview of archery. This could have been done in a picture book style as each topic is alike a picture's caption. There is more information for starting archery in the book Archery; Steps to Success.The best part was the 10 steps to shooting an arrow taken from the book: Archery.

The book is full of detailed information that leads to a better understanding of archery I particularly enjoyed the mental game coverage.

The "fundamentals" of archery are not terribly complicated or numerous but it seems almost impossible to find a book that will explain them all. Most will just suggest that your teacher or shop attendant can mount this for you or adjust that or help you select the right match. To my experience, this is the book that comes the closest to telling you what you need to know. Many others will go straight into the minutia of the "right mental attitude", or the personal history of the author, while completely glossing over how to set a sight from scratch or selecting the right arrow shafts for your bow. As most bows are sold without accessories such as rests, buttons, sights, nock locators or peep sights, it would be really useful to be able to learn how to choose and install them from the written page. Archery Fundamentals is not perfect, but it is the closest I have found.
