EXTREME DANGER, SOME OF THESE ARE NOT ASSEMBLED CORRECTLY.
UPDATE: Some of these are not assembled correctly. On magnets like these the same pole should always be facing out. This way no 2 magnets will attract each other with max. N to S force. However out of the 100+ of these I purchased several were assembled wrong. They had the opposite pole facing out so that it was 100% force to attract one of the other magnets. When you start to take them apart from the container they come in, be super diligent about making sure you don't like two opposite pole come close to each other. If you do, and any part of your body is in between (like fingers) you will lose chunks of skin or worse. The force between two opposite poles, magnet to magnet is 100# and that's the same force as dropping 100# directly on your finger. So be very careful.TO THE MANUF.: YOU NEED UP YOUR QUALITY CONTROL. YOU SHOULD NOT BE LETTING THESE GO OUT WITH OPPOSITE POLES FACING OUT!Original Review:These are fine magnets and we bought a lot to use around the shop. Very convenient if you have lots of metal surfaces to stick to. A couple of notes: The ad says 100# pulling force. This is when you have magnet to magnet (one magnet north to another magnet south). If you go magnet to steel (1/8" plate is what I tested it on) it's about 50-55# using a digital pull (hanging) scale. If you have anything in between the magnet and steel it drops off A LOT. A single piece of thick paper drops it down to about 15#s depending on the thickness of the paper, so keep that in mind.

I was shocked at how strong these magnets are!
I was surprised.... I didn't know if these magnets were going to hold up after reading other's reviews. I'm very happy with my purchase. The magnets are very strong. Everything seems to be of good quality.i purchased these to stick to the side of my toolbox / work bench to hold a handheld broom and dust pan to. Nothing that is even coming close to testing the strength of the magnet... but these are doing the job perfectly.I'm not sure if they would actually hold 100 lbs, but from what I have experienced, I'd guess they would hold a good deal of weight!

More uses than I thought
I had a plan to hang a dog leash from my new steel doors. It turns out there are so many more uses. The magnets are reasonably strong. Of course they also work on the refrigerator. Just realized I can use 1 or 2 to hang a wreath from my front security door. They are useful on my metal tool cart. They came with a protective sheet or paper but I have not see a need for it yet. Nothing has been scratched by removing the magnets.

Great hold - practically impossible to get off
These magnets are truly heavy duty! Be careful what you are using them for and where you are using them. Another used recommended putting something under them to lessen the likelihood of damage/scratches to the surface you are putting them on. I’m glad I listened!! I used them to cover the back of my vehicle with Aluminet to protect my dogs from the heat. I slipped a piece of rubber between my vehicle and the magnet using the carbiner in the metal loophole of the net. The magnets adhere great and didn’t budge even through some pretty heavy gusts of wind but were beyond a pain to get off even with the rubber helping it to slide and using carbiner to pull. These may be a bit of overkill for anyone looking to use them in a similar fashion.

Strong
These magnetic hooks perform as described by the seller. They are very strong and hold well on smooth, flat surfaces, but like most magnets, they will slide if used to hang heavy loads on a vertical surface. A small strip of clear, removable tape under the magnet helps prevent sliding. They are excellent for backpacks and purses. I used one to hang a small , lightweight vacuum cleaner. I will also take one on an upcoming cruise to hang an organizer since cabin walls are usually metal. If you need very strong magnetic hooks, these are an excellent choice.

Not very strong. But, what do I know... I’m just an engineer.
Not very strong! I wanted this to hold a 11lb edc bag to all metal (not painted) work bench. I did the math for vertical weight. 1/3 of 120 is 40lbs!!! This won’t hold even 11lb. Not happy!

dangerous and not usable
So i opened the packaging and the metal bar that divides the 2 sets of 4 was razor thin that i cut my self trying to get them separated then middle ones slid off ok but the end ones were on the thin piece that they got stuck together and made it impossible to take apart without breaking the hooks, they will not even slide off each other because how the plastic is not flush with the magnet so sliding them off from each other is impossible.I could not issue a return because it was mislabeled glass or flammable by amazon. So besides me cutting myself because of the separators that was useless , it made 4 of these worthless to my use, never buying from these guys again. The magnets will slide off surfaces, no reason to have the metal bars so thin as a knife. a thick bar would of done better and allow for easy slide off and is more safer!

Great to hang items Vertically or horizontally!
These magnetic hooks are great! They do not support 90 lbs. I used these in my Steel garage to hang brooms, Christmas C9 light strings in the ceiling and other misc items with out having to drill holes or permanent mounting. I’ve purchased 4 sets of these and we’re still finding uses. I recommend these for anyone with a metal shed or garage. Be careful with refrigerator uses. I hung a medium sized skillet, to the side and it slides down (didn’t come off), just slides down and can scratch the paint. I hung a fan, less than 40 lbs and it slid down and magnet failed. Good product for the money, just think thru your application. I need 20 more, ordering this week!!

Cant hold 40lbs vertically or 5for that matter
Either the gasket layer makes it so slippery that it slides right off of smooth vertical surfaces or the fact of the matter is that it cant hold up a 5lb jacket or lighter without sliding off a metal surface like a fridge. Works great horizontally though, not what I bought it for.

Are they TOO strong?!
The hooks were overlapping on one another in a small plastic box. They are SO strong that the coating got scratched while trying to take them apart. Now 4 out of 6 of them are damaged... Their aspect is important for my project, so I’m pretty bummed.

Hook me up!
Perfect solution to a deck surrounded by steal accents and nowhere to drill a whole. Holds extremely well. Nothing has budged. I would say 15lbs would be the max load,I wouldn’t push it much further if it’s outdoors.

Not bad but not for heavy duty.
First of all, unless vertical, it won't hold anything heavy as it will just slide down. Magnet is strong indeed but it will just drag down with my winter coatSecond, the hook is so small it's hard to hang anything other than keyring.

Strong!
These magnetic hooks are strong and reliable. They are absolutely fabulous for metal gazebos! Highly recommended!
