Product Description The Big and Bug Biome is a multi-chambered, multi-species insect retreat which provides opportunities for insect study. It consists of a multi-insect dormitory at the top which provides shelter and habitat for solitary bees, ladybirds, lacewings, spiders and beetles. Pull-out out inspection tubes to allow inspection of developing egg cells in the Perspex in addition to the full length mason bee / leafcutter bee holes which form an attractive swirl on the front of the Biome. Other insects may take shelter in the pine cone filled refuge holes or the litter critter zone at the base of the Biome. The sides of the Biome have Perspex inspection windows to allow this insect world to be observed. Finally on the ledge at the bottom is a nectar feeding terrace designed for butterflies. The Biome is beautifully crafted from solid FSC timber which provides insulation for the sheltering and overwintering insects. The textural quality of the different habitats from the pine cones to drilled bee holes are not only practical but aesthetically pleasing. Great present idea for a keen gardener
It was a present so I did not unpack it fully. The product looked good and hopefully it will attract the insects it says it will. My friend who received it, is a very keen allotment person and was very pleased.

Looks like something made in a garden shed
Absolutely awful. Should be advertised as ‘build your own’. The only element which is intact are the pine cones, which are covered in glue-see photos. You have to add all the bamboo yourself which there is neither enough of, nor is it long enough to fit the product. There are white spots which I assume are where drill holes we supposed to be. If I hadn’t ordered at such short notice (I have to give it as a present today) I would be asking for my money back. For £50 I expected a high quality product. Looks like something made in a garden shed. By a child. Who was blindfolded.

Delivered very promptly, potentially a good price as purchased under deal scheme and appears to be the "Hilton" of bug homes, more importantly bought as a present with recipients very well pleased

Poor.
Disappointing, poorly finsihed and the roof was cracked. Sent back. For the price, one would expect much higher quality.

I've had one of these in the garden for 3 years now, and although I was sceptical at first they actually really do attract a lot of solitary bees and really work. I placed mine on top of 3 bricks against the garage wall in full sunlight and I have had red mason bees using it a lot, and as you can see in the picture, visible larvae of new bees hatching ready for the next generation found in one of the observation pipes (lots of other holes are full too! I agree on some of the glue being visible etc but remember this is going to sit in a garden to attract bugs, it will soon look rustic as nature intends!
