Great value and ideal when preparing for a small/medium patio
I found this tool very useful and effective when tamping down the sub base and sharp sand screed in preparation for a small circular nation (2.6 m in diameter).Unlike other reviewers I haven't experienced any issues with the handle cracking, but having read previous reviews I was sure not to be over zealous and allowed the weight of the tool to do the work rather than slamming it down with much greater force.I've also made use of the tool since on several smaller projects preparing a base for several stepping stones and compounding the soil over a large area below a weed membrane in preparation for a gravel mulch, and the handle is still in one piece.Based on the price compared to the cost of hiring a hacker plate, all be it a bit harder work, in my view it has already paid for itself and I would recommend to anyone planning their own small patron or similar project.
